Dr Hanus

” It is our goal to empower you with the education, information and knowledge you need to make the best choices for your dental health care.” – Dr. Larry Hanus

Decades ago, Dr. Hanus discovered his passion for helping people make positive choices in their health care.  In dentistry, after extensive study, this evolved into a mercury free practice.
Dr. Hanus graduated from the College of Dentistry, University of Iowa in 1979.  In 1998, he received a ND degree in Naturopathy from Trinity College of Natural Health in Indiana. Shortly after studying cranial osteopathic therapy with traditional osteopaths and “biological and holistic” dentists, Dr. Hanus received his  massage therapist license from the State of Iowa.  With this, he came to appreciate the relationship of TMJ disorders to the entire muscular system of the body and realize the benefits of many therapies including cranial sacral therapy.
Dr. Hanus’ diverse education in variety of natural modalities, aside from dentistry, has assisted him in developing a unique perspective in integrating dental health into “whole-body health”.    He has taught classes in the fields of reflexology, essential oil therapy, cranial sacral therapy, massage therapy, EFT  therapy of  emotional / “mental” healing, and countless others on nutrition and  related topics.

Dr. Hanus is  very passionate about  integrated health care, and through this passion  has gained many friends in other fields of  health care.  With that comes  the knowledge and experience to help you locate the options of integrated health care that you may be looking for.   After one conversation with him you will believe that he can provide you with much more than a yearly check-up.

We look forward to working cooperatively with you as you integrate dentistry into your comprehensive healthy life-style.

For many people this has included aspects of dentistry such as:

Removal of amalgam fillings consistent with International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology safety protocol.

Avoidance of traditional metal restorations, including gold alloys, semi-precious and non-precious materials.

TMJ treatment for relief of related chronic head, neck and facial pain

Treating periodontal disease with awareness of its relationship  to heart disease,  diabetes, low birth weight and   other disorders.
